Today our team tested using Codesys EPOWER PAC MC600 (1.2GHz Dual core) to program and control delta robot (3 Ethercat servo+1 Ethercat Stepping) using tracking conveyor command with machine vision. This MC600 can do 16 Axis Groups simultaneously or can control 4 delta robots simultaneously at the same time by using CPU core separation technique to process only Ethercat bus. Can display results with Codesys webvisu which is used as 15 inch IPC window10 license.
The next test will use Codesys EPOWER PAC MC600 to control the 6 Axis Robot Arm with Tracking conveyor and Tracking rotary and test the CNC 3 Axis tracking command as well.
Finally, a single MC600 will be used to control all Delta robots, Arm robots, CNC 3 Axis with Tracking with machine vision. CODESYS is a very powerful software and has functions to support control in almost every type of industrial system without having to use other software (but there is still no machine vision). Codesys software may be a disruptor of the automation industry in the near future. And when manufacturers do not need a budget to develop software, it makes the cost of PLCs and PACs that support Codesys drop significantly in the past.
Finally, what I like most about Codesys MC600 is webvisu, which is that we can write codesys HMI and download it to PAC. The HMI screen that we write will be embedded in the CPU. When we want to call the HMI, we just use a device that can open a web browser and it will immediately become an HMI. I use Windows 10 IPC size 15 inches, costing less than twenty thousand instead of a touch screen. The advantage of using webvisu is that we do not need to configure OPC UA to contact other HMIs and can call codesys HMI tools directly, such as SM3_ROBOTIC_VISU, SM3_CNC_VISU, which can reduce the time spent on writing graphics quite a bit.
